Continuity of Operations Planning (COOP)
A comprehensive plan (measuring Emergency Preparedness Capability) that provides for a continuation of facility operations by accounting for and considering all key aspects, critical elements, and requirements as delineated by government, executive, and corporation policies and procedures concerning those emergency situations or events that may adversely affect normal operations.
A CJES COOP is specifically intended/designed to ensure continued performance of essential functions and operations, reduce loss of life, minimize damage and losses, ensure successful succession, reduce or mitigate disruptions, ensure the provision/availability of alternate facilities, protect assets, achieve a timely and orderly recovery, achieve an efficient reconstitution, and maintain a tests, training, and exercise program to support program implementation, sustainment, and validation.
